3,000 FUE Hair Graft Transplant – Over 7,000 Hairs

A 41-year-old male in good overall health presented with a 10-year history of progressive hair loss. Clinical evaluation revealed Norwood Class IV androgenetic alopecia, primarily affecting the frontal hairline and mid-scalp. The patient had strong donor characteristics, including good hair density, thickness, and overall hair quality.

Following consultation, Dr. Sara Wasserbauer determined the patient was an excellent candidate for hair transplantation. On the day of surgery, Dr. Wasserbauer collaborated closely with the patient to design an age-appropriate, natural-looking hairline that restored frontal density while seamlessly connecting the temporal regions.

The patient underwent an FUE hair transplant procedure during which 3,104 individual follicular units were harvested, totaling 7,528 hairs. Grafts were carefully cleaned, sorted, and implanted using implanter pens to protect follicular integrity and ensure precise placement. The patient tolerated the procedure well without complications.

Postoperatively, the patient was advised to continue topical minoxidil to help maintain existing native hair. At 12 months post-op, follow-up photographs demonstrated excellent growth, natural density, and a refined hairline. The patient reported a high level of satisfaction and was extremely pleased with his natural, youthful appearance.
