California Hair Surgeon Surgical Policy

Hair transplant surgery is performed by human hands – and whose hands are working on a patient’s hair surgery matters more than anything else.

Every graft extraction, every graft site creation – is a skin incision.  Thousands of clinics worldwide operate without a qualified surgeon present, and the skill, artistry, and medical judgment of a real physician as something no imposter can replicate.

Doctor’s Role:

At Sara Wasserbauer MD and California Hair Surgeon, the doctor draws the hairline

Makes Incisions in the recipient area (blades, needles, implanters)

Makes incisions in the donor area (scoring and excising grafts)

Place grafts with sharp implanters (if used)

Medical Assistants Role:

Pull grafts scored by the surgeon

Identify, trim, and count grafts

Load implanters

Place grafts with forceps or dull implanters

SWMD and California Hair Surgeon are a fully transparent clinic freely sharing our data, judgement and decades of expertise in the interests of our patients’ benefit.  Before you choose a clinic, ask directly for your doctor’s name, their medical license number, and the board they are registered with. A real doctor will answer without hesitation.

Get educated on the right questions to ask. Ask before you choose.
